Netanyahu defies Washington, asserting that Israel will not seek permission to strike Gaza or Lebanon, and that he alone will determine which countries will participate in the international forces in the Gaza Strip.

In a new escalation, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that Israel does not need permission from any party to strike targets in Gaza or Lebanon, despite its commitment to the latest US-brokered truth.

During his cabinet meeting on Sunday, Netanyahu stressed that his country is an independent state and will not tolerate any attacks against it, emphasizing that the Israeli army will respond as it sees fit without waiting for anyone's approval.

Netanyahu's remarks came a week after intensive US moves in Tel Aviv, as part of efforts to maintain the fragile truce in Gaza, amid escalating tensions on the northern border with Lebanon.

He also announced his rejection of Turkey's participation in the international security force planned for deployment in the sector, explaining that Israel would determine which countries were unacceptable in this force, in a reference to the continued disagreements over the shape of post-war security arrangements.

Netanyahu's statements reflect a renewed challenge to the US administration, and open the door to questions about the future of the truth and the fate of the international force in Gaza.

In your opinion, can Netanyahu impose his vision on Washington and the world regarding Gaza and Lebanon?
